What is the best leveling build a mage in World of Warcraft?
I'm looking to make a Mage alt and was wondering what the best leveling construction would be.
The conventional wisdom is that you charge up the flame tree, and which has the highest dps improvements to the points of any specifications. Fire and Arcane have excellent benefits and PVP raids, but for raw grinding (which is essentially what most of leveling is) more dps = longer stretches between consumption = less downtime. Try this build: Fire leveling specifications Levels 10-14: Improved Fireball Why? Best DPS increase available. Levels 15-16: flamethrower, why? More comprehensive means you will be able to throw more balls before being beaten. Levels 17-21: Why Impact? A chance to stun means you'll be able to throw more balls before being beaten. Levels 22-23: Burning Soul Why? This will allow casts down while being beaten. Levels 24-28: Ignite Why? Get more damage out of Crits. Levels 29-31: Master of Elements Why? From regain their mana Crits. Levels 32-34: Critical Mass Why? Crit more often. Levels 35-39: Fire Power Why? An increase in raw damage.
