1. You will have to own the world and the principal of Warcraft expansion The Burning Crusade, and Wrath of the Lich King expansion. You want to buy U.S. customer, not the EU client. Once all are installed and activated, you have to choose any other character class / race and play that character until at 55 (on the speed of love, I suggest a hunter). Once done, you can create a death knight on any realm faction (but can only create a gentleman realm of death). 2. I would choose a time server area, as there are people more likely to be online at the same times that they are.
