Cellulosic Ethanol is a type of ethanol that comes from cellulose. This is different from the normal ethanol that comes from sugars and starches. This type of ethanol is what Novozymes are helping to develop. The company has developed a cocktail of enzymes that makes the mass production of cellulosic ethanol possible. This technology is a better alternative to the normal ethanol, since production of the latter causes the increase in price corn. This is because cellulosic ethanol derived from biomass including waste from urban, agricultural, and forest resources. In the production of this type of ethanol and does not generate toxic emissions that makes it a better alternative to other fuels.
